Students are typically referred to Valley Day School when conventional teaching methods have been ineffective. As a small, approved private school, we are able to maIntain that unique balance of structure and flexibility needed to address a student's individual needs. Our classrooms are staffed with certified special education teachers and well-qualified teaching assistants. Student/Staff ratios are consistently 3:1, providing a warm, nurturing environment where each student's emotional and educational needs can be addressed.

In compliance with each child's Individual Education Program (lEP), Valley Day School offers emotional support by helping students develop appropriate emotional and behavioral responses to frustrations encountered in daily living. Also, academic support is offered in the major subject areas that have been tailored to the student's strongest learning modality and life skills support by preparing students to be independent and productive members of society.
