Spotlight on Valley Day

Future in IT?
Our IT Manager, Mr. Smith, had a student assistant while he repaired several laptops. Jomar enjoys working with technology and may find a future in IT. “Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important.” ― Bill Gates

Congratulations to our 2024 graduates! You stand at the threshold of endless possibilities. Embrace the journey ahead with optimism and a sense of adventure. The world is yours to explore!
2024-2025 Calendar
The 2024-2025 School Year will be here before we know it. Please see the attached calendar for your planning purposes. ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!
Field Day
Our entire school had fun on Field Day! The Blue and White Team challenged each other at The Tug of War, Bat Pin Relay, Pizza Box Sprint and many more fun events. Students showed upstanding sportsmanship, danced to the music and had a terrific time!
Digitability
Students in our elementary class saved money using Digitability* to purchase handmade stuffed animals. Digitability* is an innovative and comprehensive program empowering students with autism or other cognitive disabilities to learn financial literacy. Students virtually set a budget and pay bills. They also learn time and task management within their accounts. These four special students “saved” enough money to purchase a very special handmade stuffed animal made by our own Ms. B. (Consumer Science Teacher).

Clinical and behavioral support is critical for the personal and academic growth of our students.
Cutting Edger Technology
We believe that the effective use of instructional technology is vital to teaching today's students.
Brainy Hallway
Brain science teaches us that behavior is not categorized by being good or bad; it is a question of being healthy or unhealthy.

We treat the whole student while taking into account their past trauma and the resulting coping mechanisms while attempting to understand their behaviors.

Mission Statement

Valley Day School is a private, non-profit, state-funded, special education school licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for students who are experiencing learning and/or adjustment difficulties.

Valley Day School serves children and young adults with behavioral, learning/developmental, and/or emotional problems, many of whom have serious learning difficulties and very challenging behaviors.

Valley Day School's educational program is based on our belief that each student possesses unique needs and strengths.  An educational program that is individually prescribed for each student meets these needs.  A multidisciplinary team approach coordinating knowledge and skills is used to assist students in reaching their greatest potential.

Safe2Say Something (S2SS) is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.  The program teaches young people and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially on social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to "say something" BEFORE it is too late.
